Check out the sign in front of East Leyden High School - Andrew Koterla is the only student named a commended student in the National Merit Scholarship Program!  Congrats Andrew!

September 15th, 2004 - Julio Santana

The Chicago Tribune reports that one of our graduates was named as a semifinalist for the National Merit Scholar!  The National Merit Scholarship Corp. of Evanston announced the semifinalists in its 50th annual National Merit Scholarship Program on Wednesday. The 16,000 high school students will have the opportunity to compete for 8,200 Merit Scholarship awards worth more than $33 million that will be awarded next spring.  Included in the list is Bethlehem alum Julio Santana!  Julio's sister, Jesenia, currently attends 5th grade at Bethlehem.  Good Luck Julio!!!

The front page of this week's edition of the Pioneer Press sports a very familiar face!  Check out what the Franklin Park Herald-Journal and the River Grove Messenger have to say about East Leyden's valedictorian and Bethlehem Lutheran's own Tom Koterla!  Way to go Tom!  We bet that Lynn and Tom have bought many extra copies of the newspapers!
